Frontiers Records proudly announces the release of WINGER's fifth studio album entitled "Karma" on October 16th in Europe and October 27th in the USA.
.
WINGER reunited after more than a decade in 2006 for the release of the successful come back album entitled "IV" a record that pushed forward the boundaries of WINGER classic sound to new heights. Dealing with the concept of the military life and what it was like to be a soldier, from a soldier's perspective, leaving politics at the door. "After Winger IV we toured the United States, Europe, Australia and Japan during which made a live record" says Kip Winger. "When the chance came up to do a new Winger record, I envisioned a upbeat totally rocking record that was a cross between the 1st Winger album and Pull. So Reb and I sat down and wrote all the music in a month or so. I worked for 6 months to finish it in the classic Winger style".
.
The result is an amazing new record where the four band members: Kip Winger (bass and vocals), Reb Beach (guitars now also in Whitesnake), Rod Morgenstein and John Roth shine with an incredible instrumental and vocal prowess at the service of superb Hard Rock songs but with an uncanny sense of melody. The title itself "Karma" represents Winger completing its full musical circle as Kip Winger explains "We were discussing the very interesting path the band has had and we have all been through so much together. So we went for "Karma" as this is a word that truly sums up the experience of being in the band".
.
WINGER debut album in 1988 on Atlantic achieved platinum status in the United States, and gold in Japan and Canada sporting such hits as "Madalaine", "Seventeen" and "Headed For A Heartbreak". In 1990, the band was nominated for an American Music Award for "Best New Heavy Metal Band". Shortly after, WINGER released its second album "In the Heart of the Young", which went platinum in the U.S. and gold in Japan. The album included WINGER's biggest hit "Miles Away", who topped at #12 of Billboard charts in the USA. Their third and last studio album, "Pull", was recorded in 1992/93 as a three-piece band, following the original keyboard / guitar player Paul Taylor's departure. Produced by Mike Shipley, on the following tour John Roth was called in to replace Paul Taylor.
.
"Usually Winger fans don't "expect" anything because they know we do what we feel like doing artistically" explains Kip. "It is not a commercially driven band. I can say that the songs are very upbeat". Reb Beach adds: "It's a very up-tempo riff driven rocking record. It has the elements of vintage Winger from '89 but has the blood, sweat and tears of years 20 years of writing, recording and touring!"
.
"Karma" will be released with the first pressing in limited digipak edition and includes the following songs:Deal With The Devil; Stone Cold Killer; Big World Away; Come A Little Closer; Pull Me Under; Supernova; Always Within Me; Feeding Frenzy; After All This Time; Witness; First Ending (Bonus Track). Also included there will be an Electronic Press Kit, with footage filmed in the studio during the recording sessions, that is playable on all computers as an interactive bonus.

LABEL NEWS

Frontiers Records are very excited to announce the signing of American rockers Nelson for a brand new Rock album - set to be titled "Lightning Strikes Twice". The label will also release a Nelson live album recorded during the "After the Rain" tour and the original "After the Rain" demos which include some unreleased gems.
.
Right now the Nelson's are hard at work in the studio working on the new album. Gunnar Nelson reports: "After many years of mutual admiration, Matthew and I are proud to announce our new partnership with our friends at Frontiers. We're thrilled at the opportunity for a renewed vitality for Nelson. We eagerly anticipate an unstoppable connection between the songs we work so hard on and the fans of classic melodic hard rock that we make our music for. While trends have come and gone, Frontiers has stayed the course and supported a loyal fanbase all over the world. Matthew and I have taken great pride in doing the same. It's this shared passion for great rock and roll spearheaded by great songs.presented in a timeless fashion.that's assured Matthew and I that Frontiers will be where our future hits find a perfect home. We're currently hard at work in the studio after years of writing the best songs of our lives. The resulting effort will be our first original effort commissioned specifically by and for Frontiers - a seamless follow up to our triple platinum debut album After The Rain called Lightning Strikes Twice. Brother harmonies, soaring guitars, melodies that will keep you up at night. but above all. Great Songs. That is what Nelson does. And that's all we're ever going to do for Frontiers and our loyal fans. And with our legendary drummer Bobby Rock, international guitar virtuoso Neil Zaza, and former Aerosmith keyboardist Gary Corbett, we plan on touring the four corners of the earth to support it. Nelson is back, and better than ever. Let's ROCK, shall we?".
.
"After the Rain" was the hit debut multi-platinum album from the band led by Matthew and Gunnar in the early 1990s. They zoomed to number one with their hit song, "(Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection," had three Top 10 singles, four #1 MTV videos, five Top 40 Billboard Hits and became massively popular overseas. Every magazine from Rolling Stone to People did cover stories, and the twins performed on television shows like "Late Night With David Letterman" and "Saturday Night Live." Critics tended to unfairly overlook Nelson, however, because of the brothers' pin-up good looks, but that didn't stop millions of fans from 'getting' what all the excitement was about.
.
With the rise of grunge rock in the mid-90s, pop music grew dark and foreboding. Matthew and Gunnar chose not to compromise their positive, drug-free posture to suit the trend. Those who continued to follow the brothers' musical progress were rewarded with numerous gems on their seven subsequent albums on their own Stone Canyon Records label. Matthew and Gunnar have rare insights into what it takes to earn longevity in the entertainment world. They continue the inspiring story of a most remarkable show business family. Their grandparents, Ozzie and Harriet Nelson, achieved immortality with "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet," the longest-running live action sitcom in television history. Earlier, the couple had enjoyed big band success and had scored a number one hit in 1934. Ricky Nelson emerged from the TV series' popularity to establish himself as one of the most important rock artists of the '50s and '60s with 60 million career sales and three number ones of his own.
.
So, with Matthew and Gunnar's "(Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection", the Nelsons landed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the only family to reach number one record status in three successive generations.Once again billed as Nelson, and reuniting the original internationally known rock band, Matthew and Gunnar continue to perform sold-out shows around the globe. Contributing to their audience's extraordinary devotion is the fact that Matthew and Gunnar tirelessly try to please. They take time to meet and greet each and every fan following all performances. for in their own words, "Our people are everything to us."Defying any preconceptions, Matthew and Gunnar dazzle audiences of all ages. They carry on the family tradition, while carving out their own musical identities with grace, class, and passion. Their live show flat-out ROCKS! Much to their satisfaction, the brothers' career path displays parallels to that of their legendary father, Ricky Nelson, who found fame as a teen idol before reinventing himself as a singer-songwriter and helping found the country rock movement. Matthew Nelson adds: "Gunnar and I are thrilled with this new partnership with Frontiers Records. To have the chance now to work on this new NELSON album creatively is a wonderful opportunity for us as artists and to continue the musical journey we started early in our careers. As singer songwriters we saviour this experience. We're having a blast in the studio recording some incredible rock music. Our Pop (Ricky Nelson) taught us that all careers are really a series of comebacks, and that 'lightning really does strike twice'.... so we're ready to continue the rockin' journey with Frontiers and NELSON on LIGHTNING STRIKES TWICE!"

DANGER DANGER

"Revolve"
.
Release date: 18/09/2009
Catalogue number: FR CD 424
.

.
Danger Danger were formed in 1987 by Bruno Ravel (bass) and Steve West (drums) and rounded out by Ted Poley (vocals) Andy Timmons (guitar) and Kasey Smith (keyboards). It didn't take long for the band to be noticed by Epic Records' Lennie Petze who signed them to his newly minted Imagine Records imprint. The self titled debut album was released in 1989 and is still today regarded as one of the classics of the “Hair Metal” genre sporting such hit singles as “Bang Bang” and “Naughty Naughty”.
.
The band followed it up in 1991 with another classic of the genre “Screw It”, which brought the band in tour with KISS and solidified Danger Danger’s place in the rock world. However fate and the change in the music climate eventually brought changes. Danger Danger recorded indeed their 3rd album “Cockroach” which wouldn’t see the light of day until eight years later as, upon completion of the album, the band parted ways with Ted Poley. Needing a replacement, friend and former Elektra recording artist, Canadian Paul Laine stepped in re-recording all the vocals but lawsuits from the departed singer, caused Sony to decide it was in their best interest to shelve the record. Eventually, the band amicably parted ways with the label.
.
In 1995 Danger Danger returned with their first independent release called “Dawn”, a dark and introspective record which reflected dark chapter the band was into. However shortly thereafter Danger Danger would return to their unique sound and original melodic rock roots releasing “Four The Hard Way” in 1998 and “The Return Of The Great Gildersleeves” in 2000. Both records were greeted with stellar reviews from critics and fans the world over, further helping cement the band's reputation.
.
After an eleven year absence, 2004 saw the return of original vocalist Ted Poley The re-united band’s first show was in front of 25,000 people at the prestigious Sweden Rock Festival. Danger Danger’s performance was hailed as one of the highlights of the three day festival, garnering rave reviews from both fans and critics alike. The following years saw Danger Danger touring again the US, Europe & Japan and keeping their fan base “hot” for the highly anticipated new album “Revolve” which is released to coincide with the 20th anniversary of their classic debut.
.
“I think it’s the best collection of songs we’ve ever assembled!” says Bruno Ravel presenting the new album. “There are no “filler” tracks. Having said that, the sound is a bit updated, yet still retro and very “Danger Danger” sounding. Anytime you hear Ted sing, you immediately think... “Hey, that’s Danger Danger!” I think it’s the best he has never sounded… on any record!”

HOUSE OF LORDS

"Cartesian Dreams"
.
Release date: 18/09/2009
Catalogue number: FR CD 426
.

.
House of Lords debuted in 1989 with the release of the self-titled album, a record which is still regarded as one of the best Arena Rock releases of the 80’s. The colossal sound, the soaring vocals of James Christian and instrumental capabilities of the band (which featured ex Angel and Giuffria Gregg Giuffria, along with such luminaries as Lanny Cordola, Chuck Wright and Ken Mary), reminiscent of such frontrunners as Whitesnake, Deep Purple and Van Halen, immediately brought the band to the attention of the media and fans. With their sophomore release entitled “Sahara”, House of Lords gained considerable chart success with their cover version of Blind Faith’s “Can't Find My Way Home”.
.
After a tour with Nelson in 1991, the group disbanded, eventually coming back together with a new lineup (only featuring original members Giuffria and Christian) in 1992 with "Demon's Down". This was a more melodic record which saw the big contribution at the songwriting helm - between others - of Mark Baker, a guy who penned a couple of years before the majority of the Signal “Loud and Clear” album, one of the most sought after gems of the Melodic Rock genre.
.
With the change of the musical climate, House of Lords went into hibernation until the original lineup came back together in 2000, releasing of the controversial “Power and the Myth” an album which featured a sound leaning more towards Progressive Hard Rock with 70’s rock influences. After a short European tour, singer James Christian decided to go back to the trademark Arena Rock sound of House Of Lords, putting together a new line-up with the blessing of founding member Gregg Giuffria, who opted out right before the release of “Power and the Myth”. New members Jimi Bell on guitars, B.J. Zampa on drums supplied a true powerhouse sound to the fifth studio album “World Upside Down”, a record which caused a real stir in the Hard Rock and Melodic Rock scene and was followed up by the equally impressive “Come to My Kingdom” in 2008.
.
House of Lords toured relentlessly Europe and the States in support to the releases and have now become a true staple between the Hard Rock crowd among the two continents. Needing a more fresh impact in the songwriting, James decided to team again with Mark Baker for the new album entitled “Cartesian Dreams”.
.
The record is just what you can expect and even more: superb hooks, majestic atmospheres that bring back the memories of the debut album, monumental guitar riffs and a production to die for. Everything in “Cartesian Dreams” shines from the first second to the last! Watch out for House of Lords touring Europe and the US in the late summer / fall 2009. Dates will be posted on the Frontiers Records website as well as http://www.jameschristianmusic.com/

"This new CD was truly a labour of love" says singer James Christian. "I was so fortunate to be able to work once again with my writing partner and friend Mark Baker. The last time Mark and I worked together was to write and record "Demons Down". We have a great chemistry when it comes to writing songs. Jimi Bell once again gave us smoking tracks and Tommy Denander also put his contribution on a few great tracks".

LABEL NEWS

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the worldwide release of the LYNCH MOB come back studio album entitled "Smoke And Mirrors" to be released on September 18th in Europe and October 13th in the USA.

After seventeen long years singer Oni Logan and guitar wizard George Lynch found their way back together and again show their amazing abilities in some killer new Hard Rock songs. "I would say this new record "Smoke and M irrors", is the record we should have put out as a follow up to "Wicked Sensation"...better late then never I guess...", says Lynch presenting the new record.Lynch Mob were formed by George Lynch, one of the few genuine guitar heroes of substance to emerge from the Los Angeles scene, after DOKKEN split up in 1989. The band's first album" Wicked Sensation" went on to sell over 500,000 units in the US and featured the talents of singer Oni Logan, Anthony Esposito on bass and another former DOKKEN member Mick Brown on drums. After a tour in support of Queensryche, Logan opted out, with Robert Mason taking his place on the follow up self titled release. However Lynch and Brown eventually returned to Dokken releasing 2 studio albums until he left again in late 1997 putting together a several new incarnations of Lynch Mob and exploring new sounds with different projects. However Oni Logan and George Lynch would found themselves again in a studio in the summer of 07. "We weren't sure what was going to happen" recalls George, "but as soon as I heard what Oni was coming up with just off the top of his head, I knew the old chemistry was still there. So we spent many months writing. The first batch of songs had almost a Southern Rock feel to them and there was quite a bit of acoustic and slide work on those. They also had a genuine 70's vibe. These first songs had elements reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac, Zeppelin, Black Crowes, Stones and it was all very bluesy. We lived with those songs for a while then went in and did a second round of collaboration. We had tightened up as a band after touring over the summer and we consciously wrote the newer material with the "Wicked Sensation" record in mind. So we updated the earlier songs a little and wrote a few more "adventurous" track and went in to start recording".

Joining the new line-up are bassist Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy) and drummer Scott Coogan (Brides of Destruction, Ace Frehley). LABEL NEWS

Frontiers Records is truly excited to announce the European release on September 18th 2009 of the highly anticipated DANGER DANGER new album "Revolve" ! The new album coincides with the 20th anniversary of the classic self titled debut release for Imagine Records, a record that went on to become gold, spanning two US hit singles with the songs "Naughty Naughty" e "Bang Bang". In just a few years, also on the strength of the follow up "Screw It", Danger Danger became one of the most popular bands in the Melodic Hard Rock scene, touring with the likes of KISS, Extreme, Alice Cooper and Warrant among others.

However fate and the change in the music climate eventually brought changes. Danger Danger recorded indeed their 3rd album "Cockroach" which wouldn't see the light of day until eight years later as, upon completion of the album, the band parted ways with Ted Poley. Needing a replacement, friend and former Elektra recording artist, Canadian Paul Laine stepped in re recording all the vocals but lawsuits from the departed singer, caused Sony to decide it was in their best interest to shelve the record. Eventually, the band amicably parted ways with the label. In 1995 Danger Danger returned with their first independent release called "Dawn", a dark and introspective record which reflected dark chapter the band was into. However shortly thereafter Danger Danger would return to their unique sound and original melodic rock roots releasing "Four The Hard Way" in 1998 and "The Return Of The Great Gildersleeves" in 2000. Both records were greeted with stellar reviews from critics and fans the world over, further helping cement the band's reputation. After an eleven year absence, original vocalist Ted Poley returned to the band in 2004. The re-united band's first show was in front of 25,000 people at the prestigious Sweden Rock Festival. Danger Danger's performance was hailed as one of the highlights of the three day festival, garnering rave reviews from both fans and critics alike. The following years saw Danger Danger touring again the US, Europe & Japan and keeping their fan base "hot" waiting for the release of the brand new album "It feels natural to have Ted back in the band", says founding member and bass player Bruno Ravel, "it has been like when we recorded our first album, so it was just a matter of getting to work and getting the best performances out of him and of all the other guys in the band. In retrospect I can say we managed to reach our goals, as I feel that Revolve is the best collection of songs we've ever assembled! There are no "filler" tracks. Having said that, the sound is a bit updated, yet still retro and very "Danger Danger" sounding. Anytime you hear Ted sing, you immediately think... "Hey, that's Danger Danger!" and I think he has never sounded this good on any of our records!"

Danger Danger plans to tour heavily in the fall 09 and winter 2010 in support of the new album. "We know this record was long overdue and we are aware that our label Frontiers received a lot of letters asking asking "Where is the new Danger Danger CD? Why is it taking so long?" continues Bruno, "I did become a father for the first time some 15 months ago and it was a major life change and a huge adjustment for me to concentrate on this album and tend to my family's needs at the same time. I know that's no excuse, because we should have had the record finished before then, but that was my end of the hold up. I only hope that after listening to the new album, you'll all feel it was worth the wait and we're all set up to come and rock you wherever you may be !" "Revolve" tracklisting includes: "That's What I'm Talking About", "Ghost of Love", "Killin' Love", "Hearts On The Highway", "Fugitive", "Keep On Keepin' On", "Rocket To Your Heart", "F.U.$.", "Beautiful Regret", "Never Give Up", "Dirty Mind".
Danger Danger 2009 are: Ted Poley (vocals), Bruno Ravel (bass), Steve West (drums) and Rob Marcello (guitars).

Robert Sweet (drums).

Formed in 1983, Stryper are pioneers in the mainstream popularization of Christian hard rock and metal music, with overall sales in excess of 8 million records and one Platinum and two Gold records received for the albums "To Hell with the Devil" and "In God We Trust". The band released five studio albums before disbanding in February 1992. Singer Michael Sweet pursued a solo career, while the other members have kept on working together, until Stryper came back in the original line up during 2005, releasing the acclaimed new album entitled “Reborn”.
.
In the past few years singer Michael Sweet started to cooperate with Boston and the result of this is a stunning recording of the classic song "Peace of Mind" on the brand new album "Murder By Pride", which sees none other than Tom Scholz guesting on guitar. "After years of speaking to fans and hearing comments like 'more guitars,' 'more solos' and 'more screams'", says Michael Sweet "I decided to keep those comments in mind as I wrote each song. It was important to me to try to get back to that early sound of Stryper yet at the same time, to remain relevant today. It's certainly not an easy thing to do but as I listen to 'Murder By Pride', I think that was accomplished". "I got the idea of the title 'Murder By Pride' from seeing pride consume dreams, goals and many times, lives" continues Sweet "We all deal with pride and it can be crippling, so I wanted to write a lyric and a theme that would be a constant reminder of that. This record has been in the works for a long, long time and I can only hope that it was worth the wait!".
.
Stryper have also already confirmed some live appearances in Europe in early 2010, which will be followed by more dates which are currently being worked out.

.
Outloud was formed in 2008 featuring Firewind members Bob Katsionis (Keyboards, Guitar) and Mark Cross (Drums). However the band’s history dates back to 2004 in Athens, Greece when young Tony Kash started taking guitar lessons from Bob Katsionis (Firewind, ex-Nightfall). Tony soon appeared to be a kid born to rock and was constantly coming up with some great riffs that led Bob to record those to demos, which turned out to be really good material with catchy tunes.
.
A strong melodic voice was soon needed! Bob remembered someone he once met in New York during one of FIREWIND's US tours who seemed to be the right guy. Chandler Mogel (Talon) was contacted and immediately flown in from New York to record at Bob's studio in Greece and in 3 days time the three of them recorded a bunch of songs that even surprised themselves! It seemed that everything was going too well, until one morning a power drop erased all files on Bob’s computer and everything needed to be re-done from scratch! This seemed like a divine sign pointing them to another direction: Cut the crap with the so called "internet project" mentality and get back to basics! Form a REAL ROCK BAND!
.
Since Outloud’s Music carries the 80’s “good time philosophy”, their songs are sometimes poppy but also technical, good musicians were needed! Jason Mercury, Tony's best friend was given the position of the bass player, whilst Bob called his band mate veteran skin-beater Mark Cross with who he had been playing with in Firewind for the past 4 years. Mark Cross (Firewind, ex-Helloween, Metalium, Kingdom Come a.o.), was enthused by listening to the material and perfectly fit in the puzzle and also joined the band. Gods seemed to be pleased after all.
.
.
The five of them started to jam over the existing ideas and added the final arrangements and finishing touch to Outloud’s music and in September 2008 the band entered the Basement studio in Athens and recorded their debut album. Mixed and mastered by none other than Tommy Hansen (Helloween) the album presents 11 original compositions, which can be described as a mixture of Riot’s “Fire Down Under”, Skid Row debut album, TNT’s “Tell No Tales” with some Foreigner melodic elements. With those kick ass songs and incredible attitude Frontiers immediately signed the band giving them a hot spot priority release worldwide in August. Get ready for the #1 debut of the year in 2009!

Cain's Offering is the brainchild of Finnish guitarist/songwriter Jani Liimatainen (ex-Sonata Arctica, ex-Altaria). In 2007 Jani parted ways with Finnish power metal act Sonata Arctica, a band he since 1996 had been with as one of the founding members.
.
With his departure from one of Finland's biggest music exports in recent years, all eyes are upon his newest project, Cain's Offering. Drawing its musical influence from both the classic Hard Rock scene, the fast-paced European power metal and a very modern heavy metal sound, Cain's Offering is, just as expected, a perfect example of today's living and breathing Finnish music scene.
.
Joining Jani in his quest for world domination - or rapid success, whichever comes first - are vocalist Timo Kotipelto (Stratovarius, Kotipelto), keyboardist Mikko Harkin (Solution.45, Mehida, ex-Sonata Arctica, ex-Wingdom, ex-Kenziner), bassist Jukka Koskinen (Norther, Wintersun) and drummer Jani "Hurtsi" Hurula (Paul Di'Anno).
.
Yes, this is a tour-de-force of who's-who in the Finnish heavy metal scene, and yes, this does sound like a wet dream come through for all fans of melodic metal. And guess what - the product exceeds all expectations!
.
With the debut album, "Gather The Faithful", ready for a summer 2009 release, Cain's Offering waste no time, and backed up by such a strong record label as Frontiers Records and their management Intromental, there's no doubt that 2009 will be the year where the Finnish metal scene finds a new hot exponent.

.
One can say that Howard Leese truly is a veteran when it comes to rock n' roll, having begun his music career at the early age of 9 and getting signed to the first record deal at 15 with his first band “The Zoo”. They played some of the largest concert venues in LA and opened for major bands of the day, such as Spirit, Canned Heat, and Butterfield Blues Band.
.
Leese went on to study music theory and classical music at Los Angeles City College, opting to leave for real-time experience in the studio when an opportunity presented itself for him to have full use of a recording studio in Vancouver. It was there that the fateful meeting with the Wilson sisters took place not long after when local band "Heart" came in to record a demo in 1974 which Leese produced.
.
Howard finally joined Heart in 1975 and stayed with the band for 22 years, incorporating a variety of instruments on their albums, such as electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin and keyboards. He also co-produced some of their 13 albums. Heart had 20 top 40 singles, 3 International n. 1 singles, a n. 1 album ("Heart") in 85', has received 4 Grammy nominations and has sold 40 million records worldwide.
.
Leese grew up listening to such greats as Dick Dale (the first live experience that he had), Keith Richards, Peter Green from Fleetwood Mac, Jeff Beck, Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Paul Kossoff of Free, which inspired him to put together a group in Seattle called "The Brigade", playing some old Free classics.
.
In 1997 the legendary Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Co, The Firm with Jimmy Page, Queen) had moved from England to Vancouver and was looking for a U.S. back-up band. Intrigued by how well Leese could play Kossoff's particular style and licks, he asked him to join his band. In 1998 Howard Leese joined The Paul Rodgers Band and more recently became touring member in the reformed Bad Company line-up.
.
Howard Leese spent his career putting others in the spotlight and making sure they stay there, often being called Heart’s “secret weapon.” His first solo record, aptly entitled “Secret Weapon” is an effort that’s sure to thrust him into the spotlight he so patiently has watched dance around in front of him for decades. Howard Leese offered up legends like Joe Lynn Turner (former Rainbow and Deep Purple singer), Paul Rodgers, Keith Emerson or Jimi Jamison (ex Survivor), for the space, or better yet, the lesser known talents of Deanna Johnston or Andrew Black. Howard Leese takes great pride in having his work heard from the dark depths that linger behind the spotlight. The only difference now is that the secret is out, so he might simply be a weapon – one hell of a weapon!

.
CONSTANCIA started out as the brainchild of former SCUDIERO/TOKEN keyboard player Mikael Rosengren. He had written a bunch of songs that were just screaming to be completed, recorded and released. He got in touch with guitarist Janne Stark, who has previously released albums with bands like OVERDRIVE, LOCOMOTIVE BREATH, BALLS, ZELLO etc. asking him to lay down some guitars on the demos. Janne loved the songs and got even more involved in the guitar arrangements, and the seed of CONSTANCIA was planted. “I’ve always been a fan of the pompy side of melodic hard rock and bands like CITY BOY, STYX and TRILLION as well as the real heavy stuff. I instantly felt these songs could be the perfect marriage between the melodic rock, some progressive moments and an aggressive touch added to it, which is when I came to think of the style description: - Melogressive Metal”, says Janne.
.
Next up was to find a drummer, where Janne had previously worked with Peter Svensson both in LOCOMOTIVE BREATH and MOUNTAIN OF POWER. Peter is also found in doom-folk rockers FAITH. Mikael then found JADED HEART bass-player Michael Mueller, whom he met when their respective bands shared label.
.
After having tried out several singers Janne came to think of ANDROMEDA singer David Fremberg, who had also appeared on Janne’s MOUNTAIN OF POWER album. One vocal trial track later he became the band’s lead vocalist. The vast geographical differences not meaning any limitations, the album now started growing together piece by piece. It all amalgamated into an end result that is a true band effort. “It was really interesting to see it merge together and like a small weed slowly rise and break through the asphalt to finally blossom when all the pieces came together”, says Janne who was appointed recording project manager.
.
The band first tried out different engineers to mix the album, such as Beau Hill, Pontus Norgren, Pontus Lindmark and Pelle Saether, all of them doing a great job, but it was finally Fredrik Folkare (Unleashed, Eclipse, Siebenbürgen) that was chosen to mix the album. “He found the essence of what we were after, the marriage between the melodic side and the heaviness” according to Mikael. The resulting debut album “Lost And Gone” is a true revelation for all lovers of Hard Rock with strong keyboards and brilliant vocal melodies.

With Raffaele Castaldo: bass
.
MIND KEY started in early 1999 thanks to Dario De Cicco (keyboards) and Emanuele Colella (guitars), who decided to create a band with the precise task to melt the sound of Prog Metal bands such as Dream Theater, Symphony X, Evergrey and Pain of Salvation with a newer, mature and more song oriented approach inspired by 80/90’s Hard Rock style. After the first few years spent writing and performing in local clubs, the band recorded the first demo entitled “Welcome to Another Reality” that brought them to the attention of Frontiers Records, who released the band’s debut “Journey Of A Rough Diamond” in July 2004. Mind Key line-up also included Mark Basile (DGM) on vocals, Raffaele Castaldo on bass and the awesome Andrea Stipa on drums. Just before the release of the album, Mark Basile left the group and in preparation of the subsequent tour dates, the guys met for the first time Aurelio Fierro Jr. a singer with a vast experience, who was able to give some splendid performances especially in the gigs that Mind Key landed as support of Dream Theater for the Italian “Train Of Thought Tour 2004”.
.
Mike Portnoy in particular said: “These guys sound really excellent!” MK played more live dates in support of Vision Divine, Pendragon and also appeared at the Progpower Europe Festival with more dates in Poland, Switzerland, Holland, Germany and France. During the Polish dates, a Live DVD was recorded “Habemus Poland”, with the singer Giorgio Adamo as frontman. However he soon left to make space for the return of Aurelio Fierro, who was a more suitable choice for Emanuele, Dario & Andrea on the basis of the strength of the new material written for the follow up album.
.
Mind Key then began the recording of the second album “Pulse for a Graveheart”, simplifying their songwriting and giving the chance to Fierro to showcase his immense vocal potential. This document was created using iPool music promotion software which can be described as a powerful mix of Ronnie James Dio, David Coverdale and Jorn Lande. The album was later mixed and mastered by none other than Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Angra, Krokus, Place Vendome etc.) to ensure the best sounding quality. “Pulse for a Graveheart” finally sees the light in July 2009, with some amazing guest musicians appearing such as Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Alice Cooper), who plays a keyboard solo on “Citizen of Greed”, Reb Beach (Whitesnake, Winger) on “Now Until Forever” and Tom Englund from Evergrey, dueting with Elio Fierro on “Graveheart”. “Pulse for a Graveheart” introduces to the fans a new band, with a more mature attitude and an astonishing songwriting. Get ready for the Prog Metal revelation of 2009!
